Average hours & Overtime
Regular hours and overtime pay rates are set in the employment contracts or collective conventions of each sector. Stipulated work hour is 40 hours per week (5 days) excluding 1 hour lunch break.
Wages and salaries
There is a mandated minimum wage of FCFA 36270 monthly (USD 59.044)
Observed National Holidays and vacation
Paid holidays include New Year’s Day, Youth day, Good Friday, Labor Day, National unity day, ascension day, Assumption day, Christmas day, Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha.
Paid Leave
A minimum of 24 paid annual leave days are granted to employees. Maternity leave is a minimum of 12 weeks paid leave while paternity leave is 03 days but optional
Expats, Visas, & Work Permits
Employers are responsible for obtaining work & residence permits for their expatriate employees. Foreign investors must be granted expatriate quota approval to employ expatriates.
Termination Notice
Notice period depends on the contractual agreement, seniority level and category this ranges from 2 weeks to 4months.

Statutory payroll deductions include:

· National Social Insurance Fund (NSIF)
· Patronal charges (PAT)
Health Insurance
Provision of health insurance for employees is a common practice, but it is not mandatory.
Important Information
The renewal of a work permit is done at least 03months before its expiration.
Note that every contractor is entitled to a 13th month salary at the end of the year.
